Today we went to Clonaslee Show! It was an early start - 6am !! The journey was good and Kaiser travelled really well . We got there early and took Kaiser for a run out to release some energy. We got into the show and I went to register. There was 31 dogs competing. All breeds!
First off was the “Toy Breeds” catergory which was dogs handled by either child or teenager up to 15 years! Each dog walked around the ring and then the judge looked at them individually. He chose a little Spaniel cross.
Then it was “Large Breeds” catergory and we all entered in numerical order . We were number 17 . Beside us was an Alaskan Malmatute and a Brindel Boxer.
We paraded around the ring and the judge lined us all up into three rows. We were put on the back row next to a lovely GSD bitch. Each dog was asked to stand in front of the judge and pose correctly. One by one the dogs did their stuff . It came to our turn and we stood in front or the judge. Kaiser stood beautifully with his back leg out just right. (Up to this point he was getting agitated and whined a couple of times.) The judge took a good look and then we walked around the ring to our original place. Once we all had had our turn we did another lap of the ring.
He picked a Great Dane in 3rd place, a Rough Collie in 2nd place and gave 1st place to the Brindel Boxer. Well deserved! Her stance was incredible. We all received finalist rosettes and a large bag of Gain’s dog food.
I was very proud of Kaiser. After a long day of travelling and hanging around , he did me proud!
Well done Kaiser! This gives us a great incentive to work harder to get placed next time.
